Cameron Backman

Cameron competed for eight years as a junior in Northern California. He played four years before advancing
to the national tournament three times. He attended Azusa Pacific University where he graduated with an
Applied Science degree in spring 2018. Cameron's coached at Silver Creek Valley, Colonial and Fiddlesticks
Country Club before transitioning into his role at Mediterra in the fall of 2018.

Diego Motivar from Bogota, Colombia. Played tennis for Columbus State University. Graduated with a degree in marketing and management from Columbus State University. Favorite tennis player Roger Federer. Loves going to the beach. Currently working at Quail West.

Ben has been a head tennis pro at the newly rebuilt Quail Creek Country Club for almost five years. He was a three sport high school athlete in Neenah, Wisconsin and garnered two first team all-state selections for his tennis team that won three straight state championships. He is a University of Wisconsin-Madison graduate and 2018 USPTA clay court national doubles champion. He was lucky enough to win the 5.0 Naples City singles championship twice and is embarking on his fourth year of being a Naples Pro League Captain.

Jake Nelson

Jake, an USPTA Elite Tennis Professional, recently relocated to Naples with his wife and their 4 children. Prior to moving to Naples, Jake enjoyed a ten-year career as a tennis pro, most recently as the Director of Tennis & Head Pro for SWELL/California Athletic Clubs in Southern California. Jake is a former touring pro and nationally ranked junior. 

Desislav (Des) Borov is Director of Tennis at Talis Park. After starting teaching in his hometown in Bulgaria, he played competitively in Germany and the UK before moving to Naples in 2008. He taught at Fiddler’s Creek for 5 years and then joined Talis Park in 2019, earning the Director of Tennis position in 2020. Des still enjoys playing competitively in tennis (on the Naples Pro League, captaining one year) and in pickleball (on the Ft. Myers Pro League).

When not playing racquet sports, Des likes spending time with his family, beach volleyball, golf and fishing.

Deso Borov

Brooks Green comes from Mobile, Alabama. A former 5 star recruit and 2x high school All-American, he reached as high as 43 in the country his junior year of high school. He attended Davidson College on an athletic scholarship, where he started all 4 years and led the team in wins 2/4 years at the 4,5,and 6 position, primarily playing the 5 spot. After graduating Davidson College in 2022, he pursued a masters degree at Babson College, a division 3 school in Wellesley, MA, where he played the number one position. He reached as high as 12 in the country for Division 3 and was named to all conference first team in both singles and doubles. After graduating in May, Brooks moved down to Naples to pursue a career in Banking at Fifth Third Bank.

Kathy Wacknik

Kathy Wacnik, a highly experienced Director of Tennis with a 30-year teaching history and a competitive background, is returning as the Director of Tennis for a community. Her previous service in 2011 reflects her deep commitment. Kathy is passionate about working with students of all ages and levels, focusing on hard work and enjoyment in her coaching philosophy. She has organized various in-house events, from recreational leagues to USTA-sanctioned tournaments. Kathy possesses extensive knowledge of tennis tournament systems and has supported her daughter's successful tennis career. Furthermore, she is dedicated to the non-profit program ACEing Autism, witnessing its positive impact and continuing to share tennis's valuable lessons with the broader community.

Jordan Vaughan

Jordan Vaughan is the Director of Tennis at Linville Ridge Country Club, in Linville NC. She played division 1 tennis Florida Atlantic University, where she majored in photography. She was Formerly #1 in the Nation Father-Daughter Open Doubles. Jordan teamed with Jesse Witten to reach the finals of the us open sectional qualifier in the 2014 mixed doubles.
